What makes a Hardcore duo good
The best Hardcore duos do three things well: they keep downtime low, they stop bad pulls from snowballing, and they make it obvious who is fixing what.
Top starter pairs
Warrior plus Paladin
The route gets calmer immediately. Warrior gains blessings, emergency heals, and someone to tell them to stop. Paladin gains a front line and stops dying of boredom.
Hunter plus Shaman
The pair keeps pace well, handles open-world pulls cleanly, and still has utility when a fight widens unexpectedly.
Druid plus Warlock
Druid smooths mobility, healing, and resets. Warlock brings relentless solo-style pressure and terrific attrition value.
Priest plus Mage
Frost Nova plus healing equals absurd control. This duo can handle almost anything honest as long as neither player decides they are too good for careful pulling.
Duo profession rule of thumb
At least one player should have Engineering. Two is better if the duo plans to push elite quests or dungeon-heavy leveling.
Keep in mind
A duo stops being good once both players assume the other one has the save.
