Travel needs attention
Hardcore deaths can happen with no mob on screen. Auto-run, an unsafe hearth, a bad logout spot, and a map check on a moving platform can all end the route.
Use the Hearthstone as an exit
Choose the hearth as part of the survival kit. Before a difficult route segment, know exactly where the reset ends.
Log out in a safe place
Do not AFK in the open world, even for a short time.
Use inns and cities when the session is done.
If chat needs an idle character, park an alt somewhere safe.
Common travel risks
Elevators and lifts.
Zeppelins, boats, and docks when attention moves away from the character.
Auto-running while reading maps or guides.
Long travel segments started with weak bags and no recovery plan.
Choose the hearth before the route
Set the hearth while calm and choose a town that supports the next route. A planned hearth gives you a known exit.
